changing face of blogs

I’ve noticed….and discussed often with Lee, that the face of blogs has simply changed since I was first a blogger. I blogged because I had so much in my head…and a few things to say. I encouraged my friends to blog….so I could read them, I found new - interesting blogs to read because the people fascinated me, inspired me, etc.

People still fascinate me…and inspire me. My reading list includes folks I know - folks that I love - and a couple of folks I’ve never met - but enjoy reading. I’m a fast reader….and will confess that I don’t have enough blogs to keep my reading time busy. So, if you have some suggestions of really awesome blogs…let me know.

So, people that I link to: please write more. As I told Chris yesterday….sometimes, I’d be happy to read your grocery list.

I sometimes wonder if I’m cut out to be a blogger with the changes to the blog-o-sphere. Most bloggers are pretty focused and topical. And I love the variety of human nature and see myself as a generalist…writing about my life…what I learn….what I struggle with…what I am happy about. I wouldn’t know what topic to write about all the time.

I love travel, for example, but my travel these days consists of Oklahoma mostly. I can’t write for days upon end about what I do there….as it’s regular old work. Meetings. I see the same places, stay in the same places.

When it gets down to it, though, I kind of don’t care if I “fit” the new face of blogging. It would be nice to have regular readers, regular comments, etc….

But though I can change and improve as a person, some things don’t change because….it fulfills something to just…BE. Ya know?
