When talking to the girls about the doctor visit, Em immediately told me that I needed to eat Cheerios. Research has shown (and of course the advertisers picked up on) oat bran helping to lower cholesterol. I did some research, and yes, according to the Mayo Clinic, eating Oatmeal (or Cheerios) daily will help. you have to eat two 1 1/2 cup servings of Cheerios a day……or one 1 1/2 serving cooked oatmeal per day. It also suggests eating nuts like almonds, fish, Omega-3 fatty acids, etc.
There are also studies that a diet high in calcium will reduce fat especially in the belly area….and suggests eating 3 servings of low-fat yogurt per day. Reducing belly fat is one of the things I need to do to not have the Metabolic Syndrome thing going for me.
So, basically, I should be eating 3 yogurts and 2 bowls of cheerios per day…
