I don’t get people sometimes…

I just got an email from one of my clients…the last time I was in DC, I was able to share a bottle of wine with him and catch up with a long chat…His brother-in-law was diagnosed with terminal cancer and he just returned from a 2300 mile drive….
He said is brother-in-law was overwhelmed by the visit…because, you see, other than his wife…and his mother….the rest of his friends and family have simply walked away.
How can you call yourself a friend to someone…if…when they are at the end of their time, you don’t stick around? He worded it so well “they can not tolerate watching someone with an expiration date”
It’s sad….
