So….when I travel…

I like to watch people when I travel -and what people do to pass the time. Lots of folks sleep -and I’ll admit I am subject to the occasional dozing myself. The use of personal DVD players - and movies on laptops has increased…. But I also see lots of folks that work on their laptops, as evidenced by Excel and Word.
I’ll admit, in addition to the occasional dozing, I am known to work on my laptop.
But what I prefer to do…. is read.
For as long as I can remember, I have always been a reader. My house is strewn with books here and there, but there are less books now than there were before…. part of my de-cluttering in the last few months including ridding the house of loads of books that I wouldn’t be reading….
I’ll re-read something I like, so I certainly didn’t rid the house of all the books - just….some…..
I read a book by Iris Johansen recently (Pandora’s Daughter). It was one of those “I’m bored at the airport and need something to read” purchases. And I enjoyed it. I’m fairly author loyal, and find that when I like something an author writes, I typically like their other books. I’m almost through reading Reap the Wind, another of her books.
I was going to go to Barnes and Noble and pick up another of her books, but when I got home…low and behold, there was a package with a couple of books just waiting to be cracked open and read…. Double Cross - oh yes!!
but back to traveling. With a minimum of two hours of flights minimal per week and at least one night in a hotel per week….I don’t think I’d survive without my books.
